I was out at the park yesterday afternoon enjoying the sun and the company of a friend; and saw an old couple sitting upon a rock with the word “Reconciliation” engraved into it. It caught my interest so I took a photo:
I thought about the word and the lives that the couple (who I don’t know) could’ve had and came to realize that, either married, related or even just friends they must have gone through a lot over the years; hardships, trials, frustrations yet they still hung on to the relationship they have, knowing that their relationship was of far greater worth than the issue before them. They looked at peace with each other, like they have worked through any differences and overcoming each in turn. I am sure they have had many “quarrels” in their lives but today I saw two people enjoying each others company in the warm afternoon sun on Canada Day.
